BLADELESS DIGITAL MACHINE VS MICROBLADING TOOL
WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE?
Microblading is a hand tool with a row of needles that create a blade to cut into the skin. The blade creates as many as 80-100 paper-like-cuts into the skin during an eyebrow procedure. At Andiamo, Noelle has over 60 hours in Microblading training, but we prefer using our bladeless digital machine, using a tiny Micro Needle which is virtually painless and very gentle.
The handpiece and micro needle allows for precision, control and very little trauma to the skin, which means hardly any bleeding, fast healing and better color retention for clients! Hair Strokes are ultra-fine hair strokes and natural shading- better then a Microblade.
At Andiamo, we create 3D Brows! For example: we can use a Brown pigment for Hair Strokes and also use a Lighter Brown for shading to create fullness and look like natural brow powder. This makes brows looks more natural. We can also do Eyeliner, Lash Enhancements (which to frame the eyes and make lashes look thicker) and also Lip Liner and Lip Contouring.
Micropigmentation takes a lot of training and skill. Noelle, owner of Andiamo! is a Permanent Makeup Technician with over 300 hours in micrpoigmentation education and training. She is licensed with the State of Maine, fully insured, and has 4 Advanced Certifications in the newest techniques and using the Nouveau Contour machine which is the best Digital machine and Bladeless technology available.
SEMI-PERMANENT MAKEUP - PRICING
$550. Hair Strokes & Shading
The Eyebrows are perhaps the most important part of the face; they frame the eyes and give the face expression. They also make people look younger and refreshed. Eyebrows that are too light, too thin or non-existent can be naturally enhanced and improved with Micropigmentation. Using a variety of ultra-fine Micro Needles we can add precision Hair Strokes and also can create soft "powder-brow" effect for shading and fullness. Results are completely natural and virtually painless!
Together we will design and pre-draw your brows to create symmetry. You'll see color options and what the new brow shape will look like, prior to starting.
Appointment takes about 2 hours from start to finish.
$300. Lash Enhancement - tight-lining color applied in lash area
$550. Eyeliner- includes Top, Bottom and Lash Enhancement
$300. Bottom Eyeliner Only
Eyeliner is the easiest way to enhance the beauty and expression of the eyes. Whether it's a subtle liner on just the top, the bottom or both the top and bottom of eyelids. From a subtle Lash Enhancement liner (color in the lash area only that makes Lash line look thicker and darker) to the option of a duo-tone eyeliner, using a shade of soft green or blue. Eyeliner gives a natural look that is more subtle and neater than regular make-up. It's like waking up and having Eyeliner that looks like a professional makeup artist applied. We can make the lines even and symmetrical, so you don't have to! It won’t smudge or smear throughout the day, it stays perfectly in place, on vacation, in the sauna and while working out. You'll have natural definition with zero effort! Please note, Black eyeliner will fade over time, but is considered permanent.
$750. for Lip Contouring- lip liner softly blended into a lip color
As we get older, skin aging can cause the lip contours and lip color to fade dramatically. A natural lip liner and color contouring can permanently restore the shape of your lips and gives your lip line more natural definition. A semi-permanent make-up lip liner can also correct asymmetrical lip lines for a more proportionately shaped mouth. Lips can be difficult to pigment, because the tissue is different than the brow or eye area. Lip color pigmentation can fade up to 40% after the first procedure. Color Boost will be needed 4-8 weeks after first procedure. With Lip Enhancement, you won't need to reapplying lip pencils or lipstick after eating or drinking!

POST-PROCEDURAL AFTERCARE INSTRUCTIONS
It is normal to have the area around the Brow be a little pink or have some slight redness just after the procedure. DO NOT get Brows wet for 1-3 day. After 3 days, you can wet face gently with warm water and gentle soap at sink, but DO NOT put face under shower head. Let area DRY HEAL as much as possible. Keep area clean- NO makeup or creams to the Brow area for 7 days. Brows may start to itch, appear darker or thicker as skin exfoliation begins. This is NORMAL. Do NOT use Exfoliants. Do NOT pick or remove any skin flaking, as this will remove pigment color. Left undisturbed, the color will fade to a beautiful natural color. If Brows feels really dry or tight, you can apply a small amount of the Petroleum provided to the area with a Q-tip.
EYELINER AND LASH ENHANCEMENT
Expect light puffiness and a little pink or redness of eyelid just after the procedure. Some client's get moderate swelling and puffiness around the eye area for 1-3 days, like you've had a good cry. Do NOT get eye area wet for 1-3 days. Keep eye area dry and clean, but DO NOT wash with cleansers for 3 days. Gentle splashes of water are OK, but do not get direct spray from shower head. Do NOT apply any makeup to the eye area for at least 5-7 days. Use a new mascara for the first 2 weeks to avoid contamination of bacteria. ABSOLUTELY NO CONTACT LENSES FOR 24 HOURS AFTER THE PROCEDURE.
LIPS AND LIP LINER
Expect moderate swelling usually 1-2 days following procedure, which may look like you've had Lip injections. Apply a cool pack (not ice directly) for the first 2 hours and continue throughout the day. Do NOT wash/wet for 24 hours. Day 2, you can wash with cold water and gently pat lips dry. For 7 days, keep lips moist with Petroleum aftercare and avoid sun exposure. It is recommended to apply a new SPF 15 lip balm. Do NOT use old lipstick for 2 weeks. After procedure, lips will appear very bright- this will not last. Within 3-4 days following procedure, the lip epidermis skin slouches/peels off, and it will appear you have lost all your color. This is normal. As lips heal, the color in the dermal layer will gradually become darker. Lips often times require 2 or more color applications to achieve desired color depth. It is not uncommon to lose up to 60% of the color after your first procedure. Avoid smoking and spicy foods during healing.
IMPORTANT ADDITIONAL AFTERCARE
Do NOT get the procedural area wet for a minimum of 1-3 days.
Do NOT use Retin-A or Gylcolic Acid creams or serums for 30 days and continue to avoid areas of treatment. These anti-aging creams contain acids that will fade your permanent makeup prematurely. The area will bleed and pigment will not heal properly if this is not followed.
NO Facial Waxing or Eyelash Extensions for a minimum of 2 weeks.
NO Eyelash or Eyebrow Tinting, NO Lash/Brow growth serums for 4-8 weeks.
DO NOT apply Neosporin or similar Ointment; only 100% White Petroleum provided.
NO Excessive sweating while exercising for 2 weeks. If you do intensive work outs regularly (3-7 days a week), your eyebrows may fade faster due to the production of salt/sweat. Salt is used to remove permanent makeup, therefore Hair strokes (in particular) may appear more powdery.
NO Tanning Beds or Sun Tanning for 30 days. Sun exposure will fade pigment.
No Facial Steaming, Swimming, Steam Showers for first 7-10 days.
NO Facial Injections for 30 days. No Fillers for 4 months PRIOR to procedure, including touch up appointments.
Failure to follow Post-Procedural instructions may lead to color loss or possible infection. The known possible side effects from Micro pigmentation are: redness, swelling, bruising, dry patches and tenderness. If you skin is sun damaged, thick, uneven in texture, excessively dry or excessively oily, the results cannot be expected to be perfect. Lifestyle, medications, smoking and age can all contribute to pigment fading. For best results, please schedule a Color Boost Touch-up Appointment 4-8 weeks from your initial procedure to ensure the pigment is even and stays looking its best!
WHAT TO EXPECT
- RESULTS WILL appear bolder immediately after the procedure. This is common in all Semi-Permanent Makeup applications and it will begin to lighten typically within the first 6-10 days. Rest assured, it will look natural throughout this healing process!
- WE WORK CONSERVATIVELY! When choosing a pigment color, we recommended be conservative until we see the healed results. We are always happy to go darker or bolder, (per client's request) at the touch up appointment, however we can NOT go less or lighter.
- We DO NOT do extreme makeup; such as Cat-Eye's or dramatic winged-eyeliner.
- Hair strokes will appear crisp and bold at first, but will soften up in appearance as the tissue heals. The area will flake, taking color with it. This is normal. The area will begin to oxidize and darken during the healing and become soft when completely healed.
- DO NOT PICK the tiny, flaky dry skin! This WILL REMOVE the pigment!
- It is very common to have areas fade more so than others during healing, which is why we fine tune it at the touch up appointment, which is included in the procedure cost
- Please schedule your touch up and come in 4-8 Weeks after the initial procedure.
SEMI-PERMANENT MAKEUP FAQ
DOES THE PROCEDURE HURT?
Semi-Permanent makeup is not completely painless, but it is generally not perceived as painful. Thanks to the latest digitally-controlled equipment and anesthetic creams, there is minimal discomfort! Every client is different; some will feel vibrating (like an electric toothbrush) or possibly a scratchy sensation, but most feel nothing at all. I've had clients fall asleep during the procedure as they've stated it was surprisingly very relaxing! For client comfort, we DO pre-numb out clients!
WHO IS SEMI-PERMANENT MAKEUP SUITABLE FOR?
Almost everyone! Women and men alike who want to look great. Clients who have over tweezed, have thinning eyebrows, or very light eyebrows. Also good for those that don't know how or don't have the time to draw on eyebrows or eyeliner everyday and prefer to cut down on time spent applying makeup. It is very helpful for people who swim a lot, are very active in sports, those with allergies, watery eyes, a shaky hand, or poor vision. With Semi-Permanent Makeup, you can literally wake up and go and still look put together.
DO I HAVE TO SHAVE MY EYEBROWS OFF TO GET MY BROWS DONE?
Absolutely not! That would be terrifying. We will work with whatever hair and shape you've got to create a natural-looking enhancement that you will love!
HOW LONG DOES SEMI-PERMANENT MAKEUP LAST?
All SEMI-Permanent Makeup fades. It is called "SEMI-Permanent Makeup" because it doesn't wash off with water. Generally, semi-permanent makeup color molecules will always be present, however if it is never touched up again, it may not be visible, because its under the skin. The intensity of your permanent makeup fades with time, but this varies from person to person. This is partly due to the natural cell renewal, the immune system and sun exposure. On average, clients will need a color boost every 1-3 years, depending on lifestyle, to keep makeup looking fresh. Black when used for eyeliner will fade, but will be permanent.
DO I GET TO SEE THE COLOR AND SHAPE PRIOR TO THE PROCEDURE?
Absolutely! Before we start the procedure, we will measure and draw on the shape so you can see it. Noelle, owner of Andiamo! Salon & Spa will be working with you to decide the most suitable color and shape that complements you. Only when everything is to your complete satisfaction, will the pigmentation procedure begin. We recommend the In Salon Consult to go over shape and colors prior to your procedure.
CAN I STILL WEAR TRADITIONAL MAKEUP AFTER THIS PROCEDURE?
Absolutely! Semi-Permanent makeup is not intended as replacement for dramatic looks, fun colors or heavier evening makeup. It serves to accentuate your features and natural beauty!
HOW DOES IT WORK?
We use the newest technology, a Nouveau Contour IQ Digital Micropigentation machine. The machine has a hand piece (that you can barely hear when it's turned on) that takes special, one-time use disposable Micro Needles. We use a variety of different colored pigments and needle configurations to create custom, natural-looking results on the skin.
CAN I GO BACK TO WORK AFTER?
Yes! Just make sure to keep the area clean, dry, don't touch the skin. Area MUST NOT GET WET FOR A FULL 24 HOURS, PREFERABLY 1-3 DAYS. Right after procedure, you may or may not notice any redness or slight swelling. For eyeliner procedures, your eyelids can get a a little puffy (like you've had a good cry), lips tend to swell the most and can look quite full, and eyebrows may have slight pink around them or nothing at all. If you've just had eyeliner done, you CAN NOT WEAR CONTACTS FOR 24 HOURS, so make sure to have glasses or go without for 1 day.
CAN I WALK-IN FOR THIS PROCEDURE?
Sorry, we can not do walk-ins. To inquire if a Semi-Permanent Makeup procedure is right for you, please send us a picture of yourself for an eConsult. Important: Please review the medical guidelines above to make sure you are a good candidate and don't have any serious medical conditions, which may require a Doctor's approval first.
HOW LONG DOES THE APPOINTMENT TAKE TO GET SEMI-PERMANENT MAKEUP?
All appointments usually take about 2 hours, with the exception of Lower Eyeliner and or Lash Enhancement, which takes about an hour. Lips sometimes take longer, about 2.5 hours, because we have to work slowly on delicate lip tissue.
IS THERE ANY SPECIAL AFTERCARE INSTRUCTIONS?
Yes. With the application of semi-permanent makeup, there is simple after care instructions that need to be followed. To ensure that your permanent makeup will be optimal, your Nouveau Contour professional will give you guidelines for after care for the best results and healing of the skin.
IS THE END RESULT VISIBLE IMMEDIATELY AFTERWARDS?
Yes and No. Immediately afterwards, you will see the color on your skin. Over the next few days and during the first week, you'll notice that the pigmentation is significantly darker than what the final result will be. At the end of the first week, the skin healing reduces the intensity of the color and color will be about 30-40% softer. This is normal and a natural occurrence due to your skin's cell renewal. The end result of pigmentation will be visible after a period of approximately 3 to 5 weeks.
IS SEMI-PERMANENT MAKEUP SAFE?
Absolutely! We work only under the strict rules and licensing of the State of Maine Department of Health. For every client, a new sterile, disposable needle is used and we dispose of everything else that we use.
FOR THE COST OF SEMI-PERMANENT MAKEUP, I CAN BUY A LOT OF MAKEUP!
Yes, this is true! However every morning is there a makeup artist who is styling your eyebrows, drawing a crisp eyeliner on for you or correcting the shape of your lips? Does this makeup artist also accompany you on vacation or after the gym to quickly redo your makeup as you step out of the ocean or the swimming pool? It comes down to effortless beauty and convenience that you will experience every day for years!
IS SEMI-PERMANENT MAKEUP THE SAME AS A TATTOO?
No. The principle is similar to each other, because both procedures implant pigment into the skin with needles, but that is the only similarity! The equipment, techniques, Pigments (we do not use Ink) and the layer of skin we are aiming to work in are completely different.
WHAT IF I AM PREGNANT OR BREASTFEEDING?
For insurance and legal reasons, we can NOT perform Semi-Permanent Makeup until after the pregnancy and after you are done breastfeeding. Sorry, no exceptions.
CAN I GET PERMANENT MAKEUP IF I'M UNDER 18, BUT HAVE PARENTS PERMISSION?
No. For insurance and legal reasons, you must be 18 years of age to have this procedure. Sorry, no exceptions.
